Tournaments

In Wrestling, unlike most other youth sports, it is up to the individual wrestler to select when and where they want to compete.  It is up to the wrestler to register for any events they want to participate in (except the Chadron Home Tournament which the club will automatically register and pay for all of our wrestlers).  Tournaments have a registration fee, usually between $20-$25.

We will attempt to have a coach at all of the local area tournaments but if you are not comfortable helping your wrestler on the mat, you should verify that a coach will be available.  If your wrestler wants to participate in tournaments but your schedule does not allow it, please talk to a coach or board member and we will try to help coordinate with other families to transport and help your wrestler.

You can go to Trackwrestling’s events page and search for tournaments (tutorial link) or you can use MapWrestling to find tournaments using a map and date filter.  If you register with MapWrestling, you can build your own list of events for the season.  Our club has created a list of events for our area and you can import the list by using our share code HK6EJO

Our competition season starts in December and goes until Mid March for the USA Wrestling Nebraska State Tournament.  There are additional events outside of this regular season which wrestlers can elect to participate in. Please let the coaches know if your wrestler plans to continue outside of the regular season so we can look for options to continue to support them!

If you decide to compete at events located in Wyoming or South Dakota, they may be AAU sanctioned instead of USA wrestling sanctioned.  Our club provides our wrestlers with USA wrestling cards only, so you will need to register for AAU yourself.  There are a handful of events in Nebraska which also require AAU cards such as the Huskerland State and AAU state tournaments.
